City of Berkeley Locally Preferred Alternative for BRT

City of Berkeley staff have developed a draft locally preferred alternative (LPA) for AC Transit’s proposed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route through Berkeley, Oakland, and San Leandro.

The LPA document gives a comprehensive look at the proposed route design, the options considered in developing the LPA, the implications of the design, and strategies to address impacts.

Berkeley downtown plan foes meet signature goal

Debate over the recently adopted downtown plan continues, with a petition to put the issue to voters. But, according to Inside Bay Area, opponents of the plan are hoping to get the City Council to make changes to the plan before it gets that far.

Opponents argue the plan does not go far enough to require affordable housing and green building practices.
