SF Carves a Park from the Midst of Its Pavement

Check out the Streetfilms video on the temporary pedestrian plaza carved out of the end of 17th street at Market in San Francisco. A pilot project modeling similar plazas created in New York City, this project could be replicated elsewhere in San Francisco following positive feedback.

Using paint, ballards, planters, tables, chairs, and benches, these are quick, adaptable, and reversible streetscape modifications that allow citizens, planners, and designers to experiment with and rethink their streets.
