FOCUS: Three-E Forums

To investigate the potential impacts of FOCUS, the region convened three policy-based discussions around the economy, the environment, and social equity. A regional growth program must balance "the Three Es" and reflect the ideas and concerns of the region's diverse population. To kick off community outreach for FOCUS, representatives gathered at the MetroCenter for three regional forums. At each forum, participants raised issues that FOCUS might create or resolve, and suggested assistance to meet these challenges.

Forum participants answered these questions:

  1. What are the key issues that need to be considered as the FOCUS Program moves forward?

  2. What kinds of assistance can regional agencies or other groups provide to ensure that Priority Development Areas and Priority Conservation Areas are successful?

  3. What are some of the best practices that could provide examples for communities participating in the FOCUS Program?

FOCUS Staff encourage broad participation and invite those interested to attend future meetings. To be placed on a mailing list, please email FOCUS@abag.ca.gov
