Acalanes Ridge Open Space

Contra Costa County

The Acalanes Ridge Open Space Priority Conservation Area is one of the largest and highest undeveloped ridgelines within the City of Lafayette and is visually prominent from many locations within the Lafayette community and the City of Walnut Creek. The area contains a wealth of wildlife and is next to the Briones/Mt. Diablo Regional Trail and Walnut Creek’s Acalanes Ridge Open Space. Conservation of this asset will help to complete the visual and physical greenbelt separation between the two communities, preserve an important local scenic and natural open space resource, and enhance the connection between Briones Regional Park and Mt. Diablo State Park.
