Contra Costa County
Point Edith Wetlands, located east of the City of Martinez in Contra Costa County on the Suisun Bay, is a tidal wetland habitat area that is part of the Point Edith Wildlife Area currently managed by the California Department of Fish and Game. The marsh consists of many numerous water channels and tiny ponds that are home to a diverse array of wildlife and plant species. Preservation of this significant regional open space resource will help to provide supportive habitat for sensitive tidal wetland species, create public trails and boardwalk access to sections of the waterfront, and conserve the overall ecological balance along this waterfront area.
