Marin County
The Canalways area is situated along Marin County’s central bayfront. The area would enhance the bayfront of the City of San Rafael and provide a natural buffer between urban development and the baylands, while connecting residents with the shore and potential trail linkages. The area provides habitat for migratory waterfowl and shorebirds. Preservation of this area presents an opportunity to protect bayfront lands that provide habitat and recreational opportunities.
