San Geronimo Valley Headwaters of the Lagunitas Watershed and Shore of Tomales Bay

Marin County

Located in western Marin County, the San Geronimo Valley of the Lagunitas Creek Watershed drains water from creeks and tributaries that ultimately feed into Tomales Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The San Geronimo Valley is the last large, undammed headwaters of the Lagunitas Watershed and provides spawning and rearing habitat for endangered coho salmon and steelhead trout. Conservation opportunities exist along creeks to protect riparian habitat and their banks from pollution that could threaten the survival and recovery of coho salmon.
