San Francisco Watershed Lands to Wilder Ranch State Park Priority Conservation Area

San Mateo County

The San Francisco Watershed Lands to Wilder Ranch State Park area is located along the Santa Cruz Mountains in San Mateo County. It contains significant stands of old-growth redwood and Douglas-fir forests. Many rare and sensitive animals rely on habitat within this area, including at least 20 sensitive animal species and 40 sensitive plant species. The mountain lion is an important wildlife species in this area that depends on a large home range to survive.
