Santa Clara County

The South County Agriculture area is located in southern Santa Clara County, south of the City of Gilroy. It includes agricultural land and riparian habitat. The area provides riparian woodland along the upper Pajaro River, lower Llagas Creek, and lower Carnadero Creek, and provides riparian wetland restoration opportunities along the river, creeks and floodplain. The area provides habitat for a variety of birds and other covered and native species that use freshwater marshes, adjacent to and near Pajaro River. Conservation opportunities exist to protect these habitats and agricultral lands.
