Solano County
The Blue Ridge Hills, part of the Vaca Mountain Range, are located in unincorporated Solano County northwest of the City of Vacaville and adjacent to the Solano County-Napa County border. The area is valued for its large blocks of intact habitat that have a variety of habitat types, such as grassland, oak woodland, scrub-chaparral, and riparian forest, and high species diversity. The area’s habitat connectivity also provides three habitat corridors. The area further provides important watershed, agriculture, and range lands. Land conservation in this area would limit habitat fragmentation and protect agricultural productivity, while providing an opportunity for compatible recreational uses that would not impact the watershed.
